CBS 10 WILM is now broadcasting a digital over-the-air signal!!!
On September 8th, 2008, WILM and the other Wilmington commercial TV stations will be the first entire market of broadcasters in the country to make the “Big Switch” from analog to digital television. We are proud and excited to be a part of this transition to a new era of broadcasting.
CBS 10 WILM can now be seen on digital channel 10.1. Most viewers in our five county DMA will now have the chance to see our free, over-the-air digital signal from our new tower located in Delco. Here is a map of our new digital signal’s coverage area. Please note that reception will depend on your specific location and the type of antenna you are using. Also, it is possible WILM’s signal will reach beyond the indicated areas, but specialized equipment may be needed. Tuning in these new digital signals with an antenna is a different process than tuning in analog signals. One of our engineers has written an excellent guide to viewing digital over-the-air signals with antennas. We highly recommend using this resource as you begin to receive these new signals or as a troubleshooting reference if you encounter problems. Some people may believe restrictions apply to the use of an antenna at their place of residence, so please check the FCC’s website to see if your HOA restrictions are prohibited under the law.
As always, feel free to ask us any questions you may have related to the “Big Switch,” or just to let us know how we’re doing. We are very excited to have you as a viewer and hope to make your transition as easy as possible.
